This Katana is an old soldier who has possibly seen use and definitely some abuse.  The polish is dull though the hamon is visible, though it was a bugger to photograph. There are a  couple of chips along the edge in the kissaki, including the tip being broken and possibly a few other small nail draggers.  Though the tip is broken, there is plenty of hamon to allow reshaping (see photos).  I have scoured the edge with both a magnifying glass and a loupe, and can comfortably say it has no Haigire or fatal flaws. There are a few superficial kizu such as, hike kizu or surface scratches, surface rust, graying and/or staining, etc..

Again there a no bends, haigire, or fatal flaws.

Comes in a gunto saya, which consists of a metal saya with a tattered leather cover. There is no Tsuka, Tsuba or other fittings (see photos). This is exactly how it came to me.

Could make an iai blade, a polishing project, etc. etc.
